Security and privacy
Built to watch the business, not the people in it.
No audio, ever. No face data for customers. Your full-resolution recording stays on your own cameras. Here is exactly what we receive, how long we keep it, and who can see it.
The promises.
No audio, ever
The system never records sound. We strip it from every stream.
No customer face data
We never store face data for customers or anyone walking by. People are counted, never identified.
Full recording stays local
Your full-resolution recording lives on the camera's card or your recorder. We keep 7 days of the low-res stream, then it's gone.
Footage stays yours
Video is encrypted on its way to us and stored only in our account. We never sell it, and never train models on it without your written OK.
Staff check-in only with consent
Not offered yet. If we add it, it will need each employee's recorded consent, and their data will be deleted when they leave.
Every view is logged
Each clip view, recording request and live session is recorded in an audit log.
Where your video goes
The full recording stays with you.
Your cameras keep recording at full resolution, on site. What leaves is a small, encrypted, silent copy that the AI watches from our cloud.
- At your siteYour cameras
- Full-resolution recording on the camera's card or your recorder
- With a bridge, camera passwords never leave your site
- At most a $30 bridge, only for cameras that can't stream out
- On the wayEncrypted, video only
- Each camera's low-res sub-stream, 640×360 at 10 frames a second
- No audio: the bridge drops it, and we strip it from direct streams
- Encrypted over RTSPS; we never ask you to open a camera to the internet
- In our cloudWatched, then gone
- The AI watches around the clock, in our AWS account only
- 7 days of the low-res stream for scrubbing back, then overwritten
- Clips and recordings behind short-lived signed links, never public
- Through a bridgeMost sitesA bridge the size of a pack of gum plugs in near your router and sends each camera's low-res stream to us, encrypted. It only forwards video; the watching happens in our cloud.
- DirectSome cameras can send their stream to us themselves, and over a site VPN we can connect to them. Then there's nothing to plug in at all.
The details.
What we capture
- Video only
- No audio, on any path. Bridges drop the audio track before anything leaves the site, and we strip it from cameras that stream to us directly.
- A low-res stream, not your recording
- We receive each camera's sub-stream (640×360 at 10 frames a second). Full-resolution recording never leaves your cameras or recorder.
- Watched in the cloud
- The AI runs in our cloud around the clock, so there's no computer at your site to buy, power or update.
How long we keep it
- 7 days of the stream
- The rolling low-res stream is kept for 7 days for scrubbing back, then overwritten.
- Clips by plan
- Clips of flagged events are kept for 90 days on Starter and 180 days on Pro and Multi-site.
- Recordings you ask for
- Any 5 minutes you save from the last 7 days is kept with your clips.
Who can see it
- Encrypted in transit
- Streams travel over RTSPS to our relay and HTTPS or WebRTC to your browser. The relay checks every publish and every viewer.
- Private links only
- Clips are stored in private storage and served through short-lived signed links. Never a public URL.
- Roles and site scoping
- Owner, admin, manager and viewer. Managers can be limited to their own sites. Sign-in is by one-time email code.
- An audit log of every view
- Every clip view, recording request and live session is logged with who and when.
People
- Customers are never identified
- We count people and measure how long they wait. We never store face data for customers.
- Staff check-in only with consent
- Not offered yet. If we add check-in by face for your own employees, it will be opt-in, need each employee's recorded consent, and their data will be deleted when they leave.
- AI that only restates
- Wraps and answers are written from numbers our code computed. If a number can't be traced back, the AI's text is dropped for a plain summary.
Your cameras
- Camera passwords stay on site
- Credentials live on the bridge, never in our database. The rare camera we connect to directly has its address sealed with our data key.
- Never exposed to the internet
- We never ask you to port-forward a camera. The bridge connects outward to us.
- Cameras on their own network
- We recommend a separate network for cameras, with vendor cloud features and audio switched off.
